The cot's slide-away side panel lifts and lowers with the press of a button, making it simple to reach inside and soothe a crying baby at night. It has 11 height adjustments to accommodate almost any mattress size. It also has adjustable folding feet that ensure it sits exactly at the right level.

The cot is cushioned, has mesh sides that allow for more ventilation, and its mattress is made of high-density foam for added protection. It can also be cleaned and you can keep the cot clean. It comes with a fitted bed sheet that is suitable for the crib.

Unlike  bedside cot mattress  like the Roomie Glide is suitable for most beds, including divans, thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib if it isn't connected to the bed. It is packed with wonderful features that were designed with baby and parent bonding in mind.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that while this crib is great for infants, it will not last long after your little one turns six months old, and you'll need to invest in an additional cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was an excellent purchase. She loved its sleek design.

The Roomie Glide is available to purchase from John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna considered to be an affordable price for a cot with such advanced features. She also liked how it looked in the bedroom and thought that the grey color will work well in modern homes. She did point out that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby when it's younger as it can create a bad sleep pattern for later.

The Tutti Bambini CoZee

The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to provide a good night's rest. It has a drop-side rail that can be easily adjusted to feed your child in the evening without disturbing them or getting out of the bed. This is ideal for mothers who breastfeed! It's also lightweight, making it easy to move around the house during naps and for travelling.

It's made of soft material and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It comes in charcoal or oak and various melange fabrics that will blend with all styles of decor. Anna found it solid and secure when it was attached to her bed, with the legs securely snapping into place and the zips secure to ensure safety for babies. It took her about 10 minutes to put together and didn't require any tools, with clear instructions and a video or support contact number should you encounter any issues.

The CoZee crib is equipped with all the features you would think of in a crib for your bed, including the ability to attach it to your bed using a stay-in place connection system. It also has six height settings. In addition there is an incline feature that can be used to help babies with congestion or reflux. It can also be washed by a machine essential for all the dribbles and vomit that accompany a new baby!

The CoZee is a great option for keeping your child close during their first six months of learning to sleep independently. It can be used as a cot, changing station and toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa-bed extension pack, it can transform into an actual bed. It won't feed your baby or magically sleep them it will rock them to send them off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco's more expensive options, however it is packed with lots of features. It's designed as an individual side sleeper or standalone crib, and is suitable for babies up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel with a brand new mechanism. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels as well as feet that retract to place under any bed.

Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel which can be moved upwards and downwards with just one click of a button. This was particularly useful at night, as they could reach inside and pick up their baby without waking them.

The side panel can be lowered by itself, too however it isn't recommended since it increases the risk of your child falling out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism means that it will only remain in place when it is attached to the parent's bed correctly. This feature is great for peace of mind if you are breastfeeding and need frequent nighttime feeds.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed that includes divan bases as well as beds with drawers due to the telescopic legs. It features a tilting feature for reflux babies, and an option to rock to ease them into sleep after eating. It's also extremely spacious and provides excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers but it's still quite portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's small enough to fit in a travel bag when not in use which is a plus when you have to transport it. The only downside our test subjects found was that the side panel did not flex like some of the other models, making it a little harder to see your baby from your own bed.

The Shnuggle Air

If you're looking for a bedside crib that will grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth considering. Designed to be a co-sleeping bassinet that can be attached securely to your bed and convert into a stylish cot once your baby is ready, it's perfect for night-time feeds and for strengthening your bond with your baby.

The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, which is different from other cribs. Its dual-view mesh sides and the airflow mattress, which is hypoallergenic and breathable increase airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline can help to reduce colic and reflux, while the zip down side allows you to feed or comfort your baby during the night.

The conversion kit for cots (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you require to start. It took us around an hour to complete and was fairly straightforward. The only drawback was the lack of captions written on a few of the images, which made it difficult to follow certain steps. However, overall it was a straightforward process and the quality of the materials used was excellent.

In co-sleeping mode we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a c-section since it allows them to comfortably reach out to their infant for feeding and comfort without having to climb out of their bed. It's ideal for parents who do not want to go through the burden of putting their infant in a traditional cot or getting them out of it.

During our tests we noticed the smooth motion of this next to me crib to be extremely helpful when it comes to helping babies fall asleep after midday and nighttime feeds. The drop-down side can be easily accessible to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night and was a major selling point for our exhausted test mothers. Although it doesn't rock or have additional features like a sound machine, the Joie Roomie Glide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition to our best bedside crib reviews.
